Aum Namah Shivayah,
The Amma Satsang will be having a booth at the upcoming Earth Day Festival this Sunday April 19. There are great opportunities to help out from home or at the festival. :)
"Humanity is not different from Nature. Humanity is part of Nature. The very existence of human beings on earth depends on Nature. In fact we do not protect Nature, Nature protects us. Trees and plants for example are necessary to the purification of vital energy. Everybody knows man cannot live in deserts because there are no trees to purify vital energy.
Nowadays, the air is getting more and more polluted and water too, rivers dry up and forests are destroyed. New diseases are spreading. If this goes on, a major disaster might happen which would affect the whole of Nature and mankind.
Nature is our nurturing mother. Our physical mother lets us sit on her lap for a few years but Nature patiently bears our weight during all our life. Mother Nature sings us lullabies, feeds and caresses us. Children are indebted to their mothers; likewise we should all feel we owe something to and that we have a responsibility toward Mother Nature. Forgetting that responsibility is like forgetting ourselves. If we forget nature, we will cease to exist; acting in such a way is like walking to death.
The biggest threat for mankind is not a world war; it is the widening gap between Man and Nature. That is why we must develop the vigilance of a man at gun point." Amma
