You can learn from the unreal world how to reach the real, eternal world. What we want is the everlasting world, and only through love can we expand towards that state. When the moon rises, all the waters of the lakes and oceans on earth rise towards it out of love. The flower blooms to enjoy the touch of the wind, and this, too, is out of love. So what gives us bliss? Not detachment, but love.

“Open yourheart and chant: May all beings in the universe attain peace and happiness.”   -Amma
 Amma chanted “Om Lokaha Samastha Sukhino Bhavantu” throughout Her North American tour and asked us all to pray for Nature and for all Beings. She spoke of the agitation of Nature and of people’s minds.
 In Toronto, we received Amma’s permission to invite everyone to start chanting the ‘Om Lokah” 108 times daily. Many people have pledged to add 108 Lokahs a day to their spiritual practice. Right now, we have about 1.3 million mantras being chanted by peace and nature loving people like you, for Amma’s Birthday on September 27. (Have no fear; plans are in the works for those who wish to chant beyond Her birthday! One goal being considered is pledging 100 million mantras between September 27, 2015 and September 27, 2016!)
 Would you like to join us, at least for the first leg of the journey (until Her Birthday this year)? If you would like to pledge 108 Lokahs (or even 1008), please let us know. Leena is keeping count of all the pledges, so we can offer them to Amma for Her Birthday! You can email me your pledge and I will pass it on to her. karunamba@hotmail.com Feel free also to sign up any groups of people who might like to do this: yoga class, meditation group, local satsang, etc.
 In addition to benefitting world peace and our beloved nature beings, people who are chanting are feeling deep powerful changes in their own lives!!! An exciting development: in San Ramon we will be chanting the Om Lokah chant 108 times after archana each Saturday evening!

SILENT AUCTION OPEN FOR BIDDING NOW!

In honor of our beloved Amma's 62nd Birthday, MA Centers are currently offering very special AMMA items for silent auction. Several of these items have been donated by Amma; many are from Her recent 2015 North American Tour and some additional items have been donated by Amma's loving devotees. The auction is online and bidding is now open. Proceeds from this online auction will benefit Amma's Local and International Humanitarian Service Projects, collectively known as "Embracing the World".
 Web auctions in the past have contributed to many of Amma's humanitarian projects across the globe, including Amrita Kuteeram (Amma's housing project), Disaster Relief efforts, and the Farmer Relief Project. The annual auctions have built houses in India for the poor, contributed to 2013 Typhoon Haiyan relief funds in Philippines, 2011 Japan earthquake and tsunami relief funds, 2010 Haiti earthquake disaster relief efforts, 2005 Hurricane Katrina relief funds in US, and supported both phases of the Tsunami relief efforts. More recently Mata Amritanandamayi Math (MAM) announced two massive charitable projects: a 50-crore relief-and-rehabilitation project in the flood-ravaged state of Uttarakhand (North India) and Amrita Swasraya Gramam a programme to adopt 101 villages throughout India insuring a proper home for each villager along with social, educational, medical and community services for the adopted villages so that they may become self reliant and thrive as a community.

This year's highlighted items from the special Online Auction celebrating Amma's 62nd Birthday include:

Amma's Amritapuri Room Lamp.  This stunning brass peacock lamp is Amma's personal lamp that She has used in Her room at Amritapuri for many years.
 
Amma's Devi Bhava Foot Cushion.  This beautiful white brocade covered cushion provided a soft resting place for Amma's lotus feet during every Devi Bhava program on the North American Tour for many years.  When you look closely you will see imprints of where Amma's lotus feet rested.
Amma's Amritapuri Room Glider.  This glider with thick flowered cushions gave Amma much enjoyment for many years as She gazed out of Her room at the Ashram and upper lotus pond.  ONE ONLY!
Amma's Pada Puja Rug.  Lovely fringed rug of ivory, beige, rust and burgundy colors in a spiraling floral design.  This rug has been the softness under Amma's lotus feet for each morning and evening Pada Puja ceremony in 2013 and 2015 during the five days of the Southern California Tour.  
Siddha Mala. One through fourteen faced rudrakshas.  Guari Shanka and Ganesha rudraksha on gold wire with with chikna rudrakrshas framing the back of the neck. This mala that Amma has worn is considered to be one of the most powerful malas of all. 
 
Amma's Earrings.  22k gold filled bead and Amritapuri Prasad rudraksha earings worn by Amma for one year.
Amma's Vatican Bangle.  Gorgeous pink jade bangle with ornate gold caps.  Pink jade is noted for many beneficial qualities.  Amma wore this bracelet during Her visit to the Vatican in July 2015.
